San Javier, (Murcia), is a 40 minute drive away, Alicante airport is 90mins away. Taxi services are available, however, car hire from the airport is of a similar cost, and will help you to get the most out of your holiday. We can advise on this. We will supply you with easy to follow route maps from Airport to Apartment, or we can arrange for airport transfers.
The port of Cartegena is 20 minutes drive away, & has regular bus services directly to it from close by the apartment. A ferry service also operates from the local Marina which goes regularly to San Javier. The city of Murcia is also a 20 minute drive away. Markets abound at all of these places
About the area
La Manga on the Costa Calida has an average 320 days a year of sunshine and the average winter temperature is 16°C - perfect to get away from the cold winters at Home. The World Health Organisation recommends the Costa Calida as having one of the healthiest climates in the world. This is caused by the the constant year round warm temperatures and the air quality created by the beautiful Mar Menor and Mediterranean sea
The area of the Mar Menor ( little sea ) is almost totally separated from the Mediteranean Sea due to the “La Manga del Mar Menor” which means “the sleeve of the little sea”. This very small strip of land is around 13 miles long and makes up the lagoon of Mar Menor which making it a size of 160 sq. km., a very interesting natural attraction.
It is fascinating to see this kind of sea which looks like a little lake when you stand on the La Manga strip and look inwards. The entire Mar Menor is at its deepest spot is only 8 meters deep and maintains a water temperature of 17 Celsius on the average.

Just back home from this apartment it was perfect especially the location overlooking the marina, fantastic views from all directions from the roof terrace catching the sun all day. We had a very nice relaxing holiday just what we needed

I recently spent six weeks from January 2nd 2012 to February 13th 2012 at this wonderful penthouse apartment and only have good things to say about my stay there. The apartment is perfectly located close to many restaurants, the beach, and other attractions. It is very clean, well decorated, and in a well managed building.
Looked at a few other places before renting this one and the other places definitely did not compare to this well-kept unit. I would definitely stay there again and recommend it to anyone else, it just perfect and the weather was great , lived up to expectations and beyond la manga is a wonderful place for a winter retreat from the United Kingdom
